Experience Leatherwork

Participate in one of our workshops and learn more about eco-friendly leather and experience Nitmoi's leatherwork techniques from owner Johannes. Don't worry, you don't need any experience. We will provide you with all the materials, tools and knowledge needed.

Come and create your own Nitmoi product like wallet and bag. Join our introductory workshop, given in small groups in the creative Nitmoi Studio in Utrecht.

I don't have any experience with leather, can I join the workshop?
Yes, you can certainly join. You don't need any leather working experience, to be able to leave the workshop with a beautiful item! If you do have some experience, this workshop is also for you, Johannes had a lot of experience to share with you.

Can you tell me more about the leather?
Nitmoi only works with eco-friendly vegetable tanned leather, made from European sourced hides, to create a premium quality and durable leather product. Vegetable-tanned leather is characterized by being metal-free, non-toxic and hypoallergenic. It absorbs traces of life, maturing beautifully over time.

Can I book a private workshop with some friends, or for a special occasion?
Yes of course, the workshop is a really nice experience to share with friends! Are you looking for a nice evening with a couple of friends, maybe a bachelorette or other occasion? You can book a private workshop! Click here to read more about it.

What's included in the workshops?
The workshops include the use of all the tools and materials to be able to make a beautiful Nitmoi bag. This means premium Italian leather for the bag, all the metal parts and a nylon strap with all its parts. Plus the workshop also includes coffee, tea, drinks and some snacks!

    We did the leather bag making workshop with Johannes and we absolutely loved it! The workshop was set up very well, we received a lot of explanation and interesting background information, it was great fun to go through all the steps in the process and to work with the leather and all other materials yourself. And very cool to have two beautiful bags at the end of the workshop! Johannes is very sympathetic, guides the workshop in a very fun way and knows a lot. A professional. So I definitely recommend this workshop.

The workshops will take place in the Nitmoi Studio in Utrecht. Located in a creative area next to the Havenloods, and close to café NAR and de Nijverheid.

The Nitmoi studio has been circulair build out of 2 shipping containers and provides an inspiration setting for the workshops.

Easy to reach, free parking and close to Utrecht Central Station & Utrecht Zuilen Station.
